Description

This is a spreadsheet for my Character, Desiderata. She is a species called Elquider, designed by Silverbrumby.

Heres a little information about them:

Breed: Elquider (El-qui-der)
Pelt: Red. All elquiders have a pelt that is any shade of red. No other colour is possible. Red only.
Eyes range in colour from:
Black: Angry or anything similar
White: calm/peaceful (always glowing)
Grey: uncertain/afraid... ect
Mane/Tail/Feathering: either solid black or solid white, or a mixture of both. Nothing else. Long/flowing and some Elquiders have heavy feathering around the hooves. More common among the stallions, but it is not unheard of for a mare to have some light feathering. Feathering is always black. Tail is a combination of a traditional unicorn tail and an average horse tail.
Markings: Every Elquider has a white dorsal stripe and white zebra stripes on their legs. They can have any markings, but the pelt MUST be red and must have the zebra/dorsal stripes. There are mixtures of noble bloodlines and that of nobles with the 'common' Elquiders and all represent something of their herds. The royals and nobles carry the symbols of those listed below.

Tattoos/Symbols: Every Elquider must have their own tattoo. However, how 'defined' the tattoo is depends on the bloodlines. The more 'royal' the bloodlines, the more 'defined' the tattoo is. The tattoos are always neon green and are either on the face, shoulder, neck or flank
Horns: They do not show until the stallion/mare reaches the age of 10, and can be any shape, though the most common is the 'stag' style horns. Can range from stubs to tree branch or large stag style horns. The females have smaller, weaker horns. They also shed these horns every three years.
Beards: Grows from the chin and down the neck, ending at the chest. Only on the front of the neck, nowhere else. Stallions can have small beards underneath the chins, but they only grow longer down the neck area when they are older, 100 years or more. It is a way of showing the stallion's age and wisdom. Mares do not have beards.
Hooves: cloven (three toed)
Hearing: Deaf (as are all Elquiders)
Ears: None
Smell: Excellent
Sight: Very Good
Personality: Varies
Height: 14.3-15.3 hh for mares 16.3-17.3 hh for stallions
Terrain: Mountains/rocky terrains
History: Elquiders are greatly feared by man. They are more myth then fact right now. They are not sociable horses at all. The humans see them as demon like horses and fear them greatly. The elquiders are also very serious, proud and will not mate with any other creature beside their own kin. They see the others as 'lesser' animals. Though their personalities may vary, they all have a dark and serious side to them. The stallions fight in a similar way to stags and they will only use their hooves when absolutely necessary. Mares are pregnant for 8 months and will usually wander away from the herd to give birth, preferably at night. During the breeding season, the stallions will begin to call with a deep bellow, a combination of stag and horse, to ward off any nearby predators (including humans) and to proclaim his territory and herd. Vibrations are emitted through the earth and any elquider within several miles will be able to sense them. These vibrations repel stallions, but attract any wandering mares. Humans fear this sound. Elquiders communicate via their mind/thoughts and body language. They do not emit any sounds to each other, for they cannot hear. Age limit is 800, while young come into maturity at 85.
Conformation: Rather broad head with large eyes. An arched, elegant neck with long flowing mane and tail. Powerful shoulders (especially the stallions) and a strong, compact body with sloping hindquarters. Strong limbs with good bone. Mares are generally always smaller in size and more slender in build than the stallions.

Cool. As a gamer fan and a Director I love any form of character sheet...but i especially love the ones with actual writing and back stories behind em. Reminds of the good ol days when games and stories had real characters and not flashy faces with no development.
